Click here to read my short blog post in North American Review that was inspired by my meditation on the poem, “The Florist Thinks” which will be published in their Winter 2019 Issue.
After the acceptance of said poem, I reflected back on all that has happened since I wrote the bare bones draft of that poem 7 years ago. I have a strong memory of writing that poem because I was pregnant with my second child and didn’t know it yet. I was also going through some major personal struggles. I hope that some people reading this might gain a little hope if they’re going through something, AND I also really hope that if you read this it is reminder not to judge people who work in supermarkets or food service or retail or other working-poor/working-class jobs.
