“Dreaming, With Virus, I Turn in Bed”

So excited & grateful to be in this issue of Puerto del Sol, my poem opening a very cool folio on Touch. This poem is based on a real & intense visitation dream I had of my maternal grandma 3 years ago. I was pretty terrified, sick, & fighting off Covid (this is before the vaccine. My partner had to go back to work in person & we all got it soon after). I was freaked out by how real the dream was, but I was also comforted. Only later in the day did I realize the date was my grandma’s death date.
