TAB: A Journal of Poetry and Poetics is a journal I am particularly excited to be in! I’ve been sending them poems for a while. This poem is about being in a relationship with someone from a completely different culture. My partner is Jamaican, while my grandparents were German and Polish immigrants. The oracle refers to a very trusted spiritual medium and counselor who I used to talk to about once a year for the last 20 years! You can hear me read the poem here under Oct/Nov 2024.
